The year is 2099, the world is a markedly different place. There have been massive technological advances allowing cheap and efficient energy production. The most powerful country in the world, The United States of the New Order has led this development, but in the capital, Union City, all is not well.
Science has made the Government redundant. Countries are controlled by the faceless bureaucrats that run large multinational companies. Genesis is the biggest of these companies, controlling transport, energy consumption, medicine, and laser technology throughout the world.
The world lived in peace for many decades through the strict control of societies by the multinationals, but apathy was the real controller.
Cyberspace is the biggest invention of the era and at the forefront of this research is Genesis. Cyberspace allows everyone to interact through the huge developments in networks. From the comfort of your armchair you can submerge yourself in any experience you can think of. To work, shop or for entertainment you do not need to leave your home.
Yet who is behind the scenes, pulling the strings, controlling the populace?
Joshua Reev.
A 32-year old former lieutenant in the International Control Military services, Joshua is now a private detective of the highest level. His investigations are occasionally delicate but always dangerous and it is for this very reason that his fees are exorbitant. However, on this occasion, it isn't money that is the motive behind taking his latest case, but an old promise that must now be honoured.
Hugh Martens
Martens had been in command of the second operational unit in which Joshua had served, and had saved Joshua's life 5 years ago during what should have been his last mission - something he has never let Joshua forget. He now desperately needs Joshua to repay that debt. Martens is now Union City's Governer but recently his position has become dangerously insecure due to a number of attacks on the town's major industrial installations from a subversive organisation. The fact that the attacks have seriously damaged some of the properties of Genesis Cryogenetic Enterprise, his sponsor during the previous elections, now means Martens is fighting for his political life.
Eva Tompson
Eva is the beautiful, intelligent and very elegant owner of the Free Climax Nightclub, the most exclusive spot in Union City. Joshua believes that she holds the key to cracking this case - but what exactly is her connection and what secrets does she hold?

Nightlong is a graphically stunning point and click adventure, set across five intricate levels and featuring a myriad of locations to explore. The locations are
superbly crafted in SVGA and simply ooze the cyberpunk atmosphere of a dark technological future which has to be seen to be believed. All this, combined with the atmospheric music, film-like FMV sequences and over 40 hours of gameplay, creates an all-encompassing adventure that's guaranteed to keep you immersed for ages.
